Smoked Haddock Fillets

I am so very sorry to have to write such a negative review. We were really looking forward to the arrival of these products- in the prairies we have no access to good fish and I really trusted Nova Scotia. It arrived promptly. Very well packed and iced. They all smelled wonderful. That unfortunately is the best I can say. We ordered smoked haddock - it was terrible, rubbery. I have never tasted rubbery haddock before. PLEASE don’t say it was the length of time it was poached - I come from an Irish village where we cooked fish on a weekly basis. We also ordered three packs of crab cakes - oh they were so awful! The outside was crunchy but the inside was just mush and didn’t have any taste of fish, much less crab. (Again I am very familiar with fresh crab and in my long years I have made many crab cakes.) We binned the third pack - my husband could not bear to try it again. We still have kippers in the freezer but I am reluctant to defrost them and cook - I don’t want to know if I made another mistake. This has been a very expensive mistake and one I will not make again.

After foraging high-n-low for Finnan Haddie, FINALLY I found True-North. NOW I can savour Cullen Skink THIS side of the Atlantic. Alba gu bràth!!!

This looks just the thing to make Cullen Skink, which we have not had for many years. The fillets look beautiful, and the shipping and packaging were impeccable.. We'll return for more!

We haven’t had smoked haddock for many years, and were quite excited when we saw you could supply this tasty treat. We were amazed by the fast shipping, it left Nova Scotia on Tuesday and we received it, still mostly frozen, on Wednesday in rural Alberta.
The fish was just as we remembered and we won’t hesitate to reorder again as it was excellent.
